Volunteer for the Panguitch Fire Department

The Panguitch City Fire Department is an all-volunteer organization. While we are a volunteer organization, we have the same training career firefighters go through and respond to the same kinds of emergencies paid departments respond to. In fact, we respond to a larger variety of emergencies than career firefighters do typically. The only difference is that we are not paid for it.


Most of rural America's firefighters are volunteers. Some might say that volunteers are "thrill seekers". Sure, it's thrilling to put a fire out or save a life, but when you live in a small community and know every person involved in the emergency, it is not about thrills, it's about helping your neighbors out of a bad spot. In a small community with no career or paid fire department, we are here because someone's got to do it. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing you made a difference.


We are dedicated to helping our community. If something bad happens, we'll be there. If not, you'll wish we were.
